A massive fire broke out at Kumbh Mela in the city of Pragyaraj in Uttar Pradesh at the eve of Lohri. The well-flocked mela that attracts lakhs of footfalls, caught fire a day before its start.
The fire began at the camp in Digambar Akhara at Prayagraj in Allahabad.
No casualties or injuries were reported due to this incident. However, the fire caused a series of damages to the tents and the series of tents were gutted down. Reports claimed that a dozen of them was set ablaze and charred.
It was reported that the gas cylinder that was placed in one of the tents was the main trigger for the fire. The police investigation is on to ascertain the mishap.
The previous fire was caught at Kumbh Mela in the year 2013.
