This will definitely raise eyebrows! As per a recent development in medical research, cervical cancer does suppposedly have a 100% cure.
What is Cervical Cancer?
Cervical cancer is a type of cancer arising from the cervix. The cells spread abnormally in the cervix. Moreover, it can invade the other regions too. The cervix region is the lower part of the uterus that connects directly to the vagina. If it is not detected or left untreated for longer durations cervical cancer can be life-threatening.
Statistics indicate over thousands of women suffer from cervical cancer in the United States alone. In 2018, over 3 lakh individuals succumbed to it.
Cervical cancer causes are due to a sexually transmitted infection called human papillomavirus (HPV). In short, HPV is the virus that causes this infection in women.
Women over 30 years of age are more susceptible to cervical cancer.
Symptoms for Cervical Cancer
In the earlier stages, no clear symptoms are identifiable. Therefore, this makes it even riskier. But symptoms are clearly visible in the later stages.
The symptoms mainly include –
- Excessive abnormal vaginal bleeding between periods or after sex.
- Pain in the pelvic region
- Pain during sexual intercourse
- Painful urination
- Increased frequency in urination
The Mexican researcher Eva Ramon Gallegos research for 20 years is on cervical cancer. The therapy conducted on 29 women in Mexico city has been successful. Subsequently, Over 420 people were treated during the clinical stage.
The 100% cure is due to non-invasive photodynamic therapy (PDT). Also, it comes as a major relief for women who fear cervical cancer.
