The animator of SpongeBob SquarePants, Mr. Stephen Hillenburg, succumbed to MND (Motor Neurone Disease) or ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He was suffering from this disorder for a year and a half. He breathed his last on the 26th of November, 2018.
It was not too long since he had won a special Emmy award for his notable contribution in animation.
The world will definitely miss him and his unique creativity. SpongeBob SquarePants will, however, continue to be one of the favorite cartoon creatures. May his soul rest in peace. Read more here.
